| In 1944, a lightweight canvas door model was introduced into
the Australian CMP range. This was because of the tropical operating theatre
of most of the Australian CMPs. These pictures are of a pre-production pilot
model on a Ford F15 chassis. The subsequent production doors did not use
the large "C" fillet here but did have an extended hinge area
on the cab. They were also fitted with a small bar across the bottom to
stop objects rolling out of the cab when the doors were removed. Canvas
straps were fitted when the doors were off. |
