Chevrolet converted to Peters 5 ton crane, Wodonga Vic
This one was found by a couple of locals while walking the dog. It can't be seen from the road. It has subsequently been moved, then acquired by Euan McDonald in 2005.
This
is a massive crane conversion and must have been quite useful in it's day.
Most of the original cab and all the original body have been scrapped.
The winch has gone and the cross member used to mount the right-angle gearbox to drive the winch in the centre of the turntable.
In
side the cab we can see the extent of the fabrication with the original
floor replaced in steel and wood.
This is the vehicle's original data plate. WO 94 was the GM-H designation for the No9 Field Artillery Tractor.
Under
the bonnet (hood) the date of manufacture...
